Top Tips for Elevating Your Kitchen Space this Season

Spring is finally here! Not only is this a great time to declutter and deep clean your home, but it’s also the ideal time for a redesign. One space in particular that you may feel needs a refresh is the kitchen.

Used every day for cooking, eating and socialising, it can feel like a daunting task to upgrade your kitchen space - but it certainly doesn’t have to be! That’s why we’ve put together this short guide, offering some of our top tips for ways you can elevate your kitchen this spring.

Play with Colour

If there’s one season in particular that we associate with colour, it’s spring. With the trees growing back their leaves and seasonal flowers in full bloom, take inspiration from the natural outdoor flora and bring some of that outdoor colour inside.

One way to do this is to paint your cabinets a lighter, brighter colour - such as green, pink or blue. Alternatively, you could simply paint feature spaces, such as your island unit or your backsplash.

If painting isn’t the route you want to go down, then there are other ways you can incorporate colour into your kitchen, such as through your kitchen furniture and decor, instead. Consider different artwork, rugs or even side tables you could introduce to your kitchen to liven it up.

Utilise Open Spaces

Whilst open spaces can leave your kitchen feeling large and roomy, sometimes this can actually feel a bit lacklustre in terms of design, taking away the cosy feeling of that homely touch.

To combat this, don’t be afraid to make the most of available spaces. If you have the room available, then consider fitting a central island unit or breakfast bar into your kitchen. Not only does this effectively segment your kitchen area, but it also offers a functional space that offers you more storage solutions and surfaces to work with.

Accessorise with Confidence

One of the easiest and most effective ways to transform your kitchen space is by accessorising. From functional pieces such as chopping boards, storage jars and towels to aesthetic elements such as artwork and plants, playing around with your decor is a great way to incorporate colours and textures reflective of the season into your kitchen.

For example, displaying seasonal flowers or branches in carefully chosen vases, supported by artwork that complements the vibe and colours of these, is a great way to breathe some new life into your kitchen area.
